Amenities
The Stone Studio is attached to the main house where we live and work all year round. It’s possible you may see us coming and going. During your stay, you will be our only guests and the Stone Studio guest suite and outdoor amenities are for your private use. Please enjoy the property while you’re here – the hot tub, outdoor pavilion and BBQ, and the seating areas out back.
Our 4-season outdoor hot tub is available for your private use during your stay. It is a truly wonderful spot to relax under the stars after a long day on the trails. Registered guests will find more information about the hot tub in the Stone Studio House Manual.
We recently changed providers and upgraded our Internet so we now have passable, although definitely not high-speed, service. Internet speed on the Peninsula is underwhelming (to say the least) which is why we do not really promote it. When “Stone Studio” shows up on the list of available wireless networks, please feel free to connect.

Food
We’re so glad you asked! Expect a continental-style breakfast that includes the things you need to start your day off the right way – coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice, oat milk, overnight oats, baked goods and fruit.
Sure can… even though we don’t eat out a lot. There are several restaurants in the area that are open all year and many that operate on a seasonal basis. We’ll provide you with a local area guidebook so you always have our recommendations
Absolutely. In fact that is usually our preference too. The well-appointed kitchenette includes a full-sized fridge, slow-cooker, hot plate, rice cooker/steamer, waffle maker, coffee maker, electric kettle, toaster oven and microwave – plus all the cookware, dishes and cutlery you will need. You’ll even find some olive oil, balsamic vinegar, BBQ condiments (ketchup, mustard, relish), soy sauce, hot sauce, and spices. If there’s something else you need, please ask. We love to cook so there is a pretty good chance we’ve got it in our kitchen.
Yes, there is a propane BBQ in the outdoor pavilion that is available for our guests to use. Cooking utensils are hanging next to the BBQ and a lighter is in the Stone Studio kitchen drawer. There is a backup tank in the outdoor pavilion in case the propane runs out. Please let us know if you need assistance with the backup propane tank.
Location
The Grotto and so much more! The Stone Studio B&B is located 10 minutes south of Tobermory and only minutes to Bruce Peninsula National Park, with easy access to the Grotto, Singing Sands Beach on Lake Huron, the Parks Canada Visitor’s Centre, fabulous sections of the Bruce Trail, and the stunning rocky beaches of Georgian Bay.
Absolutely! We feel so blessed to have the majority of the northern Peninsula section of the Bruce Trail within 30 minutes of our door. We’ve completed an end-to-end hike of the Peninsula of our own and learned so much about the area. (Spoiler alert! The trails up here are pretty fabulous!) Please feel free to discuss your hiking itinerary with us. If you’re looking for suggestions beyond the hike to the Grotto, we have many that we would be happy to share. Be sure to ask if you need a ride to a trail head. If our schedules align, we may be able to help. We will always do our best to support our fellow hiking enthusiasts.
Policies
While we are animal lovers, pets are not permitted in the Stone Studio. Even our three fabulous felines – Willow, Firefly and Ash – have never stepped foot inside the suite.
There is no smoking of any kind permitted inside the suite. This includes any type of vaping, tobacco or cannabis. For our guests who do smoke, please do so away from the doors to the Stone Studio to minimize the chance that it follows you back inside.
